Virtual  Labs

The aim of Virtual Labs is to enable students to perform their required laboratory experiments using only a standard computer and Internet, thereby allowing sharing of costly equipment. Two types of virtual labs have been developed under this project:

  • Simulation Based Virtual Labs: The simulations are carried out remotely at a high-end server, and the results are communicated to the student over the internet.
  • Remote Triggered Virtual Labs: The actual experiments are triggered remotely. The output of the experiment (being conducted remotely) is communicated back to the student over the internet.

Virtual labs provide an affordable, safe, easy and ideal working environment that takes into consideration the individual’s characteristics. These labs are highly interactive, comprising simulations of real labs customized for the needs of researchers and students, with an opportunity to learn using trial and error. Users are able to perform experiments using the laboratory materials in any order by moving the objects using input devices. The aim is to improve the quality of education for students attending courses with limited exposure to laboratory experiments to supplement theory classes.

This particular lab is titled “Advanced Electronics Communication - Remote Triggered Laboratory”. It is being developed by Prof. C. M. Markan, who is Professor at Dayalbagh Educational Institute. It is being made available at http://evalidate.in.

Communication Lab

The Virtual Communication Lab aims to provide supplementary learning aid to post graduate students, advanced under graduate students and practicing engineers as well as researchers in the field of Communication Engineering. The motivation for developing the content on this subject is to understand the characteristics in order to design & analyze problems for communication engineering.
The lab contains approximate 20 experiments which user an use for his initial understanding other than that he can connect his own experiment.
